Dress Guide | Waistline - Basque

Waistline is the seam that joins the bodice and the skirt. It adds signature style to a gown.

Basque – below a little bit of your waist, often creates V-shape

Sweetheart tulle ball gown, lace up, chapel train. (Wedding dress style no. W 274)

Alencon lace mermaid gown with three-dimensional floral details on chest and petals on skirt. (Wedding dress style no. W 292)

Strapless ballerina ball gown, bodice highlighted with crystal embroidery; organza and honeycomb tulle draping adds volume to the skirt. (Wedding dress style no. W 254)

Good for: full figures, wide hips, short/thick waist (creates slimmer and taller look)

Bad for: this cut hugs the bellies closely and is not suitable for those with thick bellies
