Waistline is the seam that joins the bodice and the skirt. It adds signature style to a gown.
Basque – below a little bit of your waist, often creates V-shape

Good for: full figures, wide hips, short/thick waist (creates slimmer and taller look)
Bad for: this cut hugs the bellies closely and is not suitable for those with thick bellies
